The Shanghai International Port Group (SIPG) released figures on the container throughput in Shanghai going down with a year-on-year drop of 5.2% with 34.93 million TEU handled compared to  36.85 million TEU last year.

Global #1 container port was also running behind schedule in November with 3.53 million TEU handled, down with 1.9% in comparison with the 3.6 million handled in November 2017.

Shanghai’s competitor Singapore, saw an increase with 1.26% up to 3.01 million TEU in November whereas on a year-on-year comparison, Singapore noted a throughput increase of 8.95%.
