A cooperation between Japanese shipbuilder Imabari and Marubeni Corporation has secured a new order for twelve 11.000 TEU container vessels for Taiwanese container operator Evergreen Line.
In a statement details were released stating each ship will be about 334 mtr in length and 48.4 mtr wide with a service speed of 23 knots.
The shipbuilders continued by saying that similar with their other ultra large-size containers with track record, these vessels will be adopted with eco-friendly hull form design and Twin-Islander enhancing more loading capacity.
The vessels will be multifunctional and can be operational on various container routes between Asia – North/South America – Europe flexibly to restrict thanks to their width being less than 49 mtr sit get cab be deployed for passing through the new Panama Canal.
Imabari is very proud of already having built over 200 units of container carriers, including the ultra-large 20,000TEU type which we delivered last year.
In addition, a series of 14,000-TEU and 20,000-TEU types are scheduled to be delivered this year, reports New York’s Marine Link.
