Only 3 months after launching their AX4 service, Hapag Lloyd has decided to increase its capacity by enlarging the vessels scale of their new service
The AX4 service is connecting Rotterdam, Bremerhaven and Le Havre in Europe with Savannah and New York in the US. The new liner service had taken off in April 2015 focusing on the export volume growth from Europe to the USA.
In view of the continuous increase of the westbound volumes on the North Atlantic trade, two of the smaller Hapag Lloyd vessels will be taken out the AX4 service by the end of this summer and replaced by two vessels with a larger capacity being the MS Martha Schulte with 3.635 teu capacity and the MS CS Discovery with a 3.108 teu capacity.
The smallest vessel on the trans-Atlantic service, the MS Calisto with 1.578 teu capacity will shortly be replaced by the MS Leto with a capacity of 3.094 teu.
