The capacity increase will be realised thanks to two new Super Quay Cranes which arrived last summer.
Thanks to the continuous cost effective changes the 20% growth will be realised.
After full implementation of these new SQC’s the Maasvlakte will be able to assist two triple E-class vessels in combination with 5 SCQ’s each per vessel.
The newly cranes have the same service facilities as the present eight available cranes.
APM released a statement saying that both cranes will be accredited and comprehensively tested the coming months in order to safeguard a fluent operation before they become fully operational at the Maasvlakte terminal installations.
