Kindly note we herewith have the great pleasure to confirm the opening of the Atlas Logistic Network branch office in Asia which will be managed by a long lasting freight and network expert Mr. Geert van Doorslaer.
Geert Van Doorslaer, a Belgian citizen, started his career more than 30 years ago in one of Europe’s biggest ports, Antwerp. Having worked several years for a liner agency, he moved to Egypt in 1993 to work for an Egyptian shipowner, with the target of developing liner service between Europe and Egypt, as well as chartering and port operations.
In 1997 Geert decided to move more Eastwards, and moved to Dubai where he became responsible for the Asian agency network of a Libyan NVOCC.
In 2000 Geert was appointed branch manager of Triangle Shipping a daughter company of Barwil Dubai. Triangle main business consisted of chartering vessels bulk / breakbulk / projectcargoes.
In 2002 he moved for Barwil to HCMC/Vietnam, where he after a short period decided to create his own freight forwarding operation before heading to the Atlas Logistics Family to support our further developments in Asia.
Geert Van Doorslaer is also active as vice-chairman of the Belgian Luxembourg Chamber of Commerce in Vietnam. He is supporting Atlas with an important new added value thanks to a wide experience in project shipping, chartering, break-bulk operations and liner agency.
