Two more ultra large container vessels of 14.000 launched by Yang Ming
Taiwanese shipping company Yang Ming has launched two more 14,000-TEU containerships, which were named the YM Warranty and YM Wellspring Wednesday at Imabari shipyard.
The ships, built by Imabari Shipbuilding Co. Ltd. in Japan, are the final two of five 14,000-TEU full-container vessels the company chartered from Shoei Kisen Kaisha Ltd. They belong to the same type as the YM Wellbeing, YM Wonderland and YM Wisdom, the latter two of which were named in December.
New Yang Ming vessels overall length 366.44 mtrs and speeding 23 knots
The type of ship is designed with a nominal capacity of 14,220 TEUs and is equipped with 1,000 reefer plugs. Its length overall is 366.44 meters with a beam of 51.2 meters and a summer draft of 15.52 meters. The vessel can cruise up to 23 knots.
According to Yang Ming’s website, the YM Warranty is planned to join the Pacific North West Coast Loop 3 lane. It is expected to arrive at Hong Kong’s Modern Terminals Ltd. on March 26 and depart the following day. The YM Wellspring is planned to join the Mediterranean Service-2 lane and arrive at the Pusan New Port International Terminal on March 30 and depart the following day.
