Ataturk and Istanbul airports push Turkish Airlines expansion

Maintaining its operations from Ataturk and Istanbul airports as “Dual Hub”, the global brand of Turkish Cargo continued its strong growth momentum during the first quarter of the year.

During the first three months of 2019, despite a 3.1% contraction across the air cargo sector, Turkish Cargo managed to raise its sold cargo tonnage by 11.6% compared to the same time period of the previous year, according to the WACD (World Air Cargo Data).

Turkish Airlines project cargo growth upto 4 milliion ton

Expanding its cargo transportation operations by means of passenger flights at Istanbul Airport, Turkish Cargo will be able to handle 4 million ton of cargo annually at the cargo terminal, which will have an indoor area of 300,000 sqm when all building phases are completed. (ah)
