Hong Kong International Airport reported a cargo throughput growth during October for the second consecutive month, increasing by 2.0% to 392,000 tons, when compared to the same period in 2014.

The increase in cargo was mainly driven by imports, which were up 4% from a year ago. Exports and transshipments grew 1% and 2%, respectively, in comparison with the same month last year. Key trading regions were recorded to be the traffic lanes to / from Europe, Australasia and North America.

Since the beginning of the year, HKIA has handled 3.58 million tons of cargo marking year-on-year increases of 0.4%. On a rolling 12-month basis, HKIA has handled 4.39 million tons of cargo recording year-on-year increases of 1.1%.
